Fairytale forest maternity session | Anstea

As parents, we learn so much from a first pregnancy. This might mean that we enjoy leaning into the joys of a second pregnancy so much more, since we know how quickly the first time flew by. It  may also mean that we are better prepared in case something unexpected happens… This was definitely the case with the imminent arrival of Anstea and Mario’s second baby girl.

Four years ago, the couple’s gorgeous first-born, Anna-Mae, arrived early after a challenging pregnancy. So, we now made sure to get their maternity session done nice and early, just in case baby number two had similar plans!

We decided to book the session for the same day as her baby shower, since Anstea would already have her hair and make-up done. She tied her look together with the most sensational red gown! In the whimsical forest setting, with the light dancing through the trees, the session felt like something from a fairytale! And Anstea was the gorgeous, glowing queen!

Of course, a fairytale cannot be complete without a handsome prince and an adorable little fairy!

Mario looked appropriately dashing in a simple, white button down tee and beige slacks (ladies, you cannot go wrong with this look for your man for your own maternity session. It’s timeless, stylish and comfy! Take a look at this blog post for more tips on what to wear for your pregnancy shoot!). The precious fairy, Anna-Mae, wore the cutest sequenced dress and the biggest smile that I’ve every seen!

It was such a treat bonding with Anstea and Mario again, and just fantastic to see how well they’ve settled into parenthood. Their excitement about becoming a family of four is so obvious, and I couldn’t be happier for them!

It feels like just yesterday that we were documenting their first pregnancy. If it weren’t for the excitable Anna-Mae running around, I might have thought that we’d gone back in time four years…

Enjoy this dreamy session! And then fast-forward to play witness to the arrival of baby number two!
