Dreamy sunrise beach maternity session | Tess

I met with both Patrick and Tess just a few weeks before their baby’s due date. Thankfully, another client delivered earlier than expected, and a gap opened up in my jam-packed schedule, otherwise I would not have been able available for this lovely couple’s due date. Such is the nature of a boutique Birth Photography service, and this really doesn’t happen often. So we were all very pleased at this turn of events!

Patrick is from Germany, and runs an incredibly exciting tourism business in South Africa, catering for Germans looking for an unforgettable African experience. From the videos I have seen, all I want to do is get myself on one of his tours (taking along my camera, of course)!

While we were sitting down, going through the documents and covering all the questions for their special day, they let me know that they just found out at their gynae appointment that that the baby is getting ready to make its debut! Therefor, we may need to be ready much sooner that the original due date. We made a snap decision then and there to schedule their maternity session for the very next day: Sunrise on Noordhoek beach!

Some of the best sessions come out with the least amount of prep. This one certainly didn’t disappoint: Just mom-to-be, dad-to-be and their dog Nelson (who I have totally fallen for, by the way) and the sensational surrounds…
