Sweet elective cesarean birth & in-home newborn session | Sebastian

There is never a dull moment when it comes to the uncertain world of birth! Every single birth story that I have ever photographed brought with it a unique set of surprises and challenges. So, when a c-section birth goes exactly according to plan, it is a refreshing and welcomed relief!

This was the case with the beautiful arrival of little Sebastian. His elated parents welcomed him into this world via gentle c-section. Of course, nothing could prepare them for the pure joy, awe and love that always catches parents - new and experienced alike - by surprise!

Alongside this gorgeous birth, I’m proud to share the lovely newborn photos with you too: Captured in the comfort of the family’s home, it was just wonderful to see Alicia and Jacques settling into parenthood!

An in-home newborn session like this gives me the opportunity to walk a full-circle journey with the newest member of the household: from baby-bump to pink, squishy, adorable newborn! It always surprised me to see how much a baby changes in the short time since their birth, and it’s magical to see how they adapt to their new surroundings.

This is a truly spectacular - albeit fleeting - phase of a parent’s journey. And one that Alicia and Jacques will now be able to share with their son in the future!
