Magic maternity in Majik Forest | Lauren

With all the challenges that the past few years have thrown at us, it has been a while since I had a birth that went according to plan… Thankfully, for mom Lauren, hubby Christo and their first-born (and soon-to-be big brother!), all the elements of our timeline came together beautifully.

We had the most wonderful time at Majik Forest in Durbanville. It’s as if the day was made for this romantic, almost ethereal maternity session - the sun was peeking through the trees just perfectly, the forest was green and lush and love was in the air!

I simply adore these sweet, honest emotions that the images show. The family’s excited anticipation is just beautiful and so clearly visible! I also love the dramatic light and shadow that the forest so kindly supplied. Of course, I’m also a sucker for a good love story… And there is just so much love here!

Hopefully, images like these will warm you to the idea, if you are in two minds about having a maternity session for your own pregnancy. Aren’t they beautiful? Timeless? Precious?

Whether for your first, second or third child, it’s important to remember that you won't be pregnant forever, and your pregnancy will fly by quicker than you anticipated. In fact, as a mom of three, I know from personal experience that this is especially true if this is not your first baby.

Having maternity photos to look back on will serve as a reminder of that magical time when new life was growing inside your belly. Even just a mini maternity session is all you need to be able to capture this unique time in your life. It’s quick, painless, unobtrusive and fun, and you’ll have 20 beautiful images that you’ll cherish forever. This can be done in any outdoor location, or even in the quiet comfort of your own home or baby nursery.

If you’re still not convinced, please get in touch! Perhaps I can answer some of your questions and put your mind at ease.

For now, join me in basking in the beautiful glow of this gorgeous maternity session:
