Turning seven under the sea

I had so much fun at the Two Oceans Aquarium with birthday boy, Finn, and his family and friends.

Not only did we get the VIP treatment, but we also got to go see all the happenings BEHIND THE SCENES at the aquarium! It was incredible to look down on the tanks from the roof of the aquarium, and even seeing the famous Bob Turtle surfacing to come and wish Finn a happy seventh birthday!

We got to see the biologist’s rooms, hospital tanks and the chef’s kitchen! That’s right, the animals at the aquarium have their very own chef during the week to personally prepare their food. Now that was a surprise for all to see! Between you and me, the parents were as amazed (if not more so!) than the kids to experience all the behind-the-scenes activities.

That was just the beginning of Finn’s big birthday celebration:

A few hours later it was time for even more fishy surprises at the family home where supermom, Hayley, had magically transformed their space into an aquarium full of bubbles and fun! Every year that I document one of these lovely kids’ birthday parties (a tradition that Marysol started many moons ago, which I am proud to continue), I am left in awe of Hayley’s creativity…

Take a look at all the splendour that went into this awesomely fishy party!

Not ready for the party to end yet?

Last year, Finn’s had an awesome reptile birthday party, and his sister’s recently celebrated her 10th birthday!

Planning your own special event?
