Second Natural Birth in hospital | Gouwah

Gouwah and her husband booked me for their daughters birth a few years ago. She was delivered via natural birth at Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital.

A few years later I was contacted again by Gouwah to document her second child. The plan again was for a natural delivery with the same doctor and hospital as before. And without a hitch Gouwah delivered the strongest little boy at 06:58 in the morning weighing in at just over 3kg.

Another difference this time is that we had the most excited of all big sisters waiting for the arrival of her baby brother. Aisha was just so thrilled to see her brother over video call first thing when she woke up, take a look at Ayaan’s birth story here in video.

Emotional Birth story on video

Video is so emotive and a great addition to a life changing event when capturing your birth. It tells a bigger part of the story, it fills you even deeper with sounds and memories come flooding back to your mind. Reliving this precious moment through your birth story with your child as they grow up has to be an all time favourite for many of my clients and their children.

Big sister meets her baby brother in hospital

I just love the images of first born daughter completely in awe of her brother. She could not believe her eyes looking at his tiny toes and tiny fingers. She watcher her mom breastfeeding her brother with astonishment and could not even believe she was ever this tiny just a few years before the birth of her baby brother. Birth photography not only captures the birth moments but captures all the moments that surround this new family member’s arrival to this world.
