Precious memories: My own family photo shoot

If you’re one of my regular followers, you’ll know how much I recommend having your family pictures taken on a regular basis. My honest opinion is at least once every two years! And those two years go by so fast, so find a photographer to set you up in their reminder system and BOOK BOOK BOOK. You will never regret moments captured on camera, that I can guarantee.

When I told my kids that it was time to have our family pictures taken, you can just imagine the girls’ excitement! They got completely involved with planning our outfits and brainstorming ideas for the actual shoot. On the other hand, my son just wanted to climb rocks, collect shells and jump around like a wild thing… what can I say - boys will be boys! His wildness certainly kept us three girls sighing and rolling our eyes, amused at how different boys are to us.

My wonderful friend and co-photographer, Elani van Wyk, shot these super family pictures for us just last week, and I can’t thank her enough for capturing the four of us in exactly the right way. It was the perfect evening on Camps Bay (how sensational is that sunset?!?!), and one that we will remember forever!
