From pregnant to parent: Outdoor maternity & in-home meet-the-family sessions
As clients of my predecessor, Marysol Blomerus, Kelly and her husband are no strangers to the beauty and value of birth photography. Marysol photographed the arrival of their first born shortly before immigrating to the US, and they contacted me to do the same for their second arrival, due in February 2021.
Of course, lockdown regulations meant that I was unable to get into the hospital for Kelly’s second birth. Adamant to still relay their unique journey from pregnant to parent, we scheduled an outdoor family maternity session.
Nothing beats the excitement of a soon-to-be-big-brother, and his playful cheer was infectious!
Kelly was scheduled for a c-section slightly earlier than expected, but it went down without any issues and they welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world.
We stayed in contact for her discharge time so that I could make sure I arrived at their home before they did. What followed was a stunning and endearing Meet-the-family photo session, overflowing with the most delicate moments of of Big Brother meeting the new arrival.
The gorgeous boys were introduced with uncertain touches of fingers, a few interesting glances and some subtle coaxing from family around. It was incredibly sweet to watch the boys connecting in such a gentle way.
Of course, it’s also very special to capture moments shared between the newborn and his grandparents (Yes! Family and close friends are welcome at my Meet-the-family photo sessions. This session can be added onto either your Birth or Matenity-Newborn Package)!
I’m sure that these photos will be poured over and enjoyed for generations to come. That’s the beauty of birth photography: These bubbly little boys will be able to look back at their family’s joy at their respective arrivals (and even share it with their own kids one day!); their parents will be able to see just how much their kids grew and changed over the years; see themselves grow from brand new parents to a family…
Join me in swooning over these happy memories made, as this family of three becomes four:
